GM, South Coast Railway Reviews Preparedness to Handle Festive Season Rush

In view of the anticipated increase in passenger footfall during the festive season, including Dussehra, Diwali and Chhath, South Coast Railway (SCoR) General Manager Shri Sandeep Mathur conducted a comprehensive review of crowd management arrangements with all Principal Heads of Departments (PHODs) and Divisional Railway Managers of the divisions.

During the review, the General Manager directed all divisions to implement comprehensive operational measures to ensure smooth and safe passenger movement. The arrangements include round-the-clock monitoring and security, enhanced ticketing and passenger assistance, timely dissemination of real-time train information, improved monitoring of passenger amenities, and adequate availability of catering services and drinking water.

To accommodate the additional festive-season rush, SCoR is operating special trains to various destinations and has augmented existing weekly and long-distance services with additional coaches.

The railway administration has appealed to passengers to follow safe travel practices and cooperate with railway personnel. Passengers have been strictly advised against travelling on footboards, crossing railway tracks, boarding trains from the non-platform side, pulling the alarm chain without a valid emergency, and occupying coaches specifically designated for women or Divyangjan.
