Redevelopment works at Chennai Egmore Railway Station - Changes in the pattern of Train Services

In continuation of the o­ngoing redevelopment works at Chennai Egmore Railway Station, the following Express trains will temporarily originate from and terminate at Tambaram/Mambalam/Chennai Beach instead of Chennai Egmore from 01st September to 15th October 2026, as detailed below:

I. Short Termination of Train Services:

1.Train No. 16180 Mannargudi – Chennai Egmore Express leaving Mannargudi at 22.50 hrs from 04th September to 13th October, 2026 will short terminate at Tambaram

2.Train No. 12654 Tiruchchirappalli – Chennai Egmore Rockfort Superfast Express leaving Tiruchchirappalli at 22.35 hrs from 09th September to 15th September & 21st September to 14th October, 2026  will short terminate at Mambalam

3.Train No.  22157 Mumbai CST – Chennai Egmore Superfast Mail leaving Mumbai CST at 22.52 hrs from 12th September to  15th September, 2026 will short terminate at Chennai Beach

4.Train No. 22154 Salem – Chennai Egmore Superfast Express leaving Salem at 21.30 hrs from 12th September to 15th September, 2026 will short terminate at Mambalam

II. Change in Origination of Train Services

1.Train No. 16179 Chennai Egmore – Mannargudi Express will originate from Tambaram from 05th September t0 14th October, 2026. The train will depart from Tambaram at 23.25 hr

2.Train No. 22153 Chennai Egmore – Salem Superfast Express will originate from Chennai Beach from 13th September to 16th September, 2026. The train will depart from Chennai Beach at 23.30 hrs and from Chennai Egmore at 23.55 hrs

III. Regulation of Train Service

1.Train No. 16866 Thanjavur – Chennai Egmore Uzhavan Express scheduled to leave Thanjavur at hrs from 16th September to 19th September , 2026 will be regulated/delayed for 20 mins at Mambalam/Kodambakka

2.Train No. 16866 Thanjavur – Chennai Egmore Uzhavan Express scheduled to leave Thanjavur at hrs from 22nd September to 15th October, 2026 will be regulated/delayed for 30 mins at Mambalam/Kodambakkam.
