Railways Announces Special Trains Between Prayagraj and Tirunelveli to Ease Passenger Rush

Railway has announced the operation of special trains between Prayagraj and Tirunelveli (via Warangal and Vijayawada) to accommodate increased passenger demand.

Train No. 04171 Prayagraj–Tirunelveli Special will operate every Saturday from 1 August 2026 to 22 August 2026, with a total of 4 services.

Train No. 04172 Tirunelveli–Prayagraj Special will operate every Monday from 3 August 2026 to 24 August 2026, with a total of 4 services.

The special trains will halt at Manikpur, Satna, Katni, Jabalpur, Itarsi, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Ballarshah, Sirpur Kaghaznagar, Ramagundam, Warangal, Khammam, Vijayawada, Tenali, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur, Renigunta, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Namakkal, Karur, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sattur, and Kovilpatti in both directions.

These special trains will consist of AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class, and General Second Class coaches.

The operation of these special trains will provide additional travel options for passengers travelling between Prayagraj, Tirunelveli, and intermediate stations. It is also expected to help accommodate higher travel demand, improve the availability of confirmed tickets, and reduce congestion on regular train services.
