Northeast Frontier Railway has announced the extension of the special train service between Yesvantpur Junction and Katihar. Train No. 06571 (Yesvantpur Jn–Katihar) will operate on Tuesdays from 21 July 2026 to 25 August 2026 for six trips, except on 4 August 2026. Train No. 06572 (Katihar–Yesvantpur Jn) will operate on Fridays from 24 July 2026 to 28 August 2026 for six trips, except on 7 August 2026. The revised composition includes 4 AC 3-tier coaches, 9 sleeper class coaches, 5 general second class coaches, and 2 SLR/D coaches, making a total of 20 coaches. Train No. 06572 commencing its journey on 31 July 2026 will be short-terminated at Yelahanka and will remain cancelled between Yelahanka and Yesvantpur due to NI work. The train will run on a diverted route via Bhubaneswar–Naraj Marthapur–Kapilas Road–Bhadrakh, with an additional stoppage at Naraj Marthapur.
The extension of the special train service is expected to provide additional travel options and improve passenger convenience on the Yesvantpur–Katihar route during the extended operational period.
