Northeast Frontier Railway has announced the extension of the periodic operation of the weekly train services between Kanpur Central and Guwahati, with existing timings and stoppages remaining unchanged. Train No. 04127 (Kanpur Central–Guwahati Weekly) has been extended from 16-07-2026 to 03-09-2026, while Train No. 04128 (Guwahati–Kanpur Central Weekly) has been extended from 17-07-2026 to 04-09-2026. The revised train composition includes 1 AC 2 Tier coach, 2 AC 3 Tier coaches, 9 Sleeper Class coaches, 5 General Second Class coaches, and 2 SLR/D coaches, making a total of 19 coaches. The announcement also states that the extension provides 08+08 trips.

The extension is expected to benefit passengers by ensuring the continued availability of direct weekly rail connectivity between Kanpur Central and Guwahati during the extended period.
