East Coast Railway has announced a Rath Yatra Special Train on demand between Jagdalpur and Puri via Argul and Harirampur (bypassing Khurda Road). Train No. 08553 will operate from Jagdalpur on 15.07.2026 and 23.07.2026, while Train No. 08554 will depart from Puri on 16.07.2026 and 24.07.2026. The schedule includes halts at Jeypore, Koraput, Damanjodi, Lakshmipur Road, Rayagada, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, Naupada Junction, Palasa, Brahmapur, Chatrapur, Khallikote, Balugaon, and Sakhigopal. The train departs Jagdalpur at 06:00 and arrives in Puri at 01:40, while the return service departs Puri at 19:15 and reaches Jagdalpur at 13:15. Additional stoppages listed are Amagura, Kotapar Road, Chhatariput, Tikiri, Singapur Road, Parvatipuram, Bobbili, Chipurupalli, Mandasa, Sompeta, Ichapuram, Nirakarpur, Kanas Road, and Delang. The coach composition consists of one luggage-cum-divyang-friendly coach, four sleeper coaches, and six general coaches.

The special train is expected to provide additional travel convenience for devotees and other passengers during the Rath Yatra period by improving connectivity between Jagdalpur, Puri, and several intermediate stations. Passengers planning to travel on these services are advised to check the train schedule and booking availability before their journey.
