East Coast Railway has announced a Rath Yatra Special Train service between Rayagada and Puri. According to the notice, Train No. 08555 will operate from Rayagada to Puri on 15.07.2026 and 23.07.2026, while Train No. 08556 will run from Puri to Rayagada on 17.07.2026 and 25.07.2026. The schedule lists stoppages at Muniguda, Kesinga, Titlagarh, Balangir, Barpali, Bargarh Road, Sambalpur, Boinda, Angul, Talcher Road, Dhenkanal, Naraj Marthapur, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Sakhigopal, and Malatipatpur before reaching Puri. The notice also mentions additional stoppages at Singapur Road, Ambadola, Norla Road, Runtla, Lanjigarh Road, Junagarh Road, Harishankar Road, Loisingha, Dungripali, Attabira, Rairakhol, Mancheswar, Haripurgram, Motari, Kanas Road, Delang, Jenapur, Birpurushottampur, and Ranikepuri. The coach composition is stated as one luggage-cum-divyang-friendly coach, four sleeper coaches, and six general coaches.
The special train has been introduced to facilitate travel during the Rath Yatra period and is expected to provide additional transportation capacity for passengers traveling between Rayagada, Puri, and intermediate stations. The service is intended to help meet increased travel demand during the festival by offering extra rail connectivity on the notified dates.
