East Coast Railway has announced the introduction of the Puri–Koraput Express, connecting Odisha's coastal and hill regions. According to the announcement, Train No. 18407 will operate from Puri to Koraput on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with services commencing on July 11, 2026. Train No. 18408 will run from Koraput to Puri on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, beginning on July 12, 2026.
Train No. 18407 will depart Puri at 7:00 am and arrive at Koraput at 11:30 pm. The train will halt at Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Naraj Marthapur, Dhenkanal, Talcher Road, Angul, Boinda, Rairakhol, Sambalpur Junction, Bargarh Road, Balangir, Titlagarh, Kesinga, Muniguda, Rayagada, Tikiri, Lakshmipur Road, Kakri Guma and Damanjodi. In the return direction, Train No. 18408 will depart Koraput at 5:00 am and reach Puri at 10:20 pm, serving the same stations.
The announced train composition includes one Luggage Cum Generator Cum Brake Van, one Luggage Cum Divyang Friendly Coach, two AC III coaches, one AC III Economy coach, eight Sleeper coaches and four General coaches.
