Southern Railway Announces Onam Special Trains Between Thiruvananthapuram Central and Tambaram

Southern Railway has announced Onam Special Trains between Thiruvananthapuram Central and Tambaram to accommodate the expected increase in passenger traffic during the Onam festival season. Train No. 06110 will operate from Thiruvananthapuram Central to Tambaram on 12th, 19th, 26th August and 2nd September 2026, while Train No. 06109 will run in the return direction from Tambaram to Thiruvananthapuram Central on 13th, 20th, 27th August and 3rd September 2026.

The special trains will halt at Varkala, Kollam, Kottarakkara, Auvaneeswaram, Punalur, Sengottai, Tenkasi, Kadayanallur, Sankarankovil, Rajapalayam, Srivilliputtur, Sivakasi, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Kodai Road, Dindigul, Tiruchchirappalli, Srirangam, Ariyalur, Vriddhachalam, Villupuram, Melmaruvathur, and Chengalpattu. Advance reservation for these special trains will open on 09 July 2026.

The operation of these special services is expected to provide additional travel options for passengers during the festive period and help ease demand on regular train services by offering extra seating capacity on this route.
