Southern Railway has announced an additional stoppage for Train No. 16101/16102 Tambaram–Kollam–Tambaram Daily Express at Pambakovil Shandy station on an experimental basis, effective from 10 July 2026.
For Train No. 16101 (Tambaram–Kollam Daily Express), the train will arrive at Pambakovil Shandy at 02:22 hrs and depart at 02:24 hrs. The revised timings after the new halt are Kadayanallur: 02:36/02:38 and Tenkasi Junction: 02:53/02:55, while the timings at Sankarankovil remain unchanged.
For Train No. 16102 (Kollam–Tambaram Daily Express), the train will arrive at Pambakovil Shandy at 19:56 hrs and depart at 19:58 hrs. The revised timings at Sankarankovil are 20:08/20:10, while the timings at Kadayanallur and Tenkasi Junction remain unchanged.
The notice also states that there will be no change in the timings of the trains at other stations.
The additional stoppage is expected to improve rail connectivity for passengers travelling to and from Pambakovil Shandy and nearby areas, providing greater convenience for daily commuters and long-distance travelers. The experimental halt aims to enhance accessibility while expanding travel options for residents in the region.
