Southern Railway has announced additional summer special trains to clear extra passenger rush during the summer season. Train No. 06065 Podanur–Kharagpur Express Special will depart from Podanur at 23:00 hrs on May 23, May 30 and June 6, 2026, and will reach Kharagpur at 12:30 hrs on the third day. Train No. 06066 Kharagpur–Erode Express Special will leave Kharagpur at 15:30 hrs on May 25, June 1 and June 8, 2026, and will arrive in Erode at 03:45 hrs on the third day. Both services will operate three trips each.

The trains will consist of 4 AC three-tier coaches, 10 sleeper class coaches, 4 general second class coaches, 1 second class coach for Divyangjan passengers, and 1 luggage-cum-brake van. Southern Railway also stated that advance reservation for these special trains will open at 08:00 hrs on May 22, 2026, from the Southern Railway end.

The additional summer special services are expected to provide relief to passengers travelling during the peak holiday season by improving seat availability and helping manage increased travel demand on the route.
