Vanchinad Express to Halt Temporarily at Thiruvananthapuram Pettah Station

Southern Railway has announced a temporary stoppage for the Vanchinad Express at Thiruvananthapuram Pettah station on an experimental basis for six months, effective from 22 May 2026. The trains covered under this arrangement are Train No. 16303 operating from Ernakulam Junction to Thiruvananthapuram Central and Train No. 16304 operating from Thiruvananthapuram Central to Ernakulam Junction.

According to the announcement, Train No. 16303 will arrive at Thiruvananthapuram Pettah at 09:30 and depart at 09:31, while Train No. 16304 will arrive at 17:50 and depart at 17:51. Southern Railway stated that the one-minute halt has been introduced on an experimental basis to improve accessibility and provide greater convenience for daily commuters and local passengers traveling through the Thiruvananthapuram region.

The additional stoppage is expected to enhance regional connectivity, reduce travel inconvenience for passengers near Pettah, and support smoother access to nearby residential and commercial areas while maintaining safety, security, and punctuality in operations.
