Southern Railway Announces Temporary Two-Minute Stop for Jan Shatabdi Express at Aluva

Southern Railway has announced a temporary two-minute stoppage for the Jan Shatabdi Express at Aluva station on an experimental basis with effect from 22 May 2026. The temporary halt will apply to Train No. 12081 Kannur–Thiruvananthapuram Central Jan Shatabdi Express and Train No. 12082 Thiruvananthapuram Central–Kannur Jan Shatabdi Express.

According to the schedule displayed in the announcement, Train No. 12081 will arrive at Aluva at 08:48 and depart at 08:50, while Train No. 12082 will arrive at 19:19 and depart at 19:21. The notice states that the stoppage is purely temporary and experimental and will be reviewed after a trial period.

The temporary stoppage is expected to improve connectivity for passengers travelling to and from Aluva and nearby regions, offering greater convenience and easier access to the Jan Shatabdi Express services. Southern Railway said the initiative is aimed at serving passengers better while maintaining punctuality and operational efficiency.
