On 15th November 2024, Hon'ble Minister of State for Railways (MoSR), Shri V Somanna, flagged off two new Janshatabdi Express trains – Train No. 12089 KSR Bengaluru – Shivamogga Town and Train No. 12080 SSS Hubballi – KSR Bengaluru. Both trains will now have an additional stoppage at Tiptur Railway Station, enhancing connectivity and convenience for passengers.

The flagging-off ceremony was attended by Hon'ble MLAs Shri M.T. Krishnappa, Shri G.B. Jyothi Ganesh, Shri B. Suresh Gowda, and former MLA Shri Masala Jayaram. Senior Railway officials, including Shri Yogesh Mohan, DRM SBC, and Smt. Shilpi Agarwal, DRM Mysuru, were also present at the event. This move is expected to boost travel options and improve connectivity in the region, offering enhanced rail services for the public.
