Southern Railway has announced a Diwali special one-way express train, numbered 06151, between Chennai Egmore and Kanniyakumari. The special train will operate on November 5, 2026 (Thursday), connecting Chennai Egmore with Kanniyakumari.

The train will stop at Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Melmaruvathur, Villupuram, Tirupadripuliyur, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Mayiladuthurai, Kumbakonam, Papanasam, Thanjavur, Tiruchirappalli, Dindigul, Kodaikanal Road, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti, Tirunelveli, Nanguneri, Valliyur and Nagercoil before reaching its destination, Kanniyakumari.

The special train will comprise 22 coaches, including one AC Two-Tier coach, three AC Three-Tier coaches, 11 Sleeper Class coaches, five General Second Class coaches and two Luggage-cum-Brake Vans.

Advance reservations for the festival special train will open on November 3, 2026.
