Central Railway has notified for special trains to clear extra rush of passengers during Velankanni Festival as detailed below:

Train No. 01161/01162 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus –Velankanni – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express Specials:

Train No. 01161 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus –Velankanni Express Special will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 11.50 hrs on 26th August & 07th September, 2026 (Wednesday & Monday) and reach Velankanni at 02.00 hrs, the third day (2 Services)

In return direction, Train No. 01162 Velankanni – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express Special will leave Velankanni at 05.15 hrs on 28th August & 09th September, 2026 (Friday & Wednesday) and reach Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 16.40 hrs, the next day (2 Services)

 Coach Composition: 2- AC Two Tier Coaches, 8- AC Three-Tier Coaches, 8- Sleeper Class Coaches, 4- General Second Class Coaches, 2- Second Class Coaches (Divyangjan-friendly)
