Northern Railway has announced the regular operation of the Hydrogen Train between Jind Junction and Sonipat Junction. According to the notice, train numbers 74010 (Jind–Sonipat Passenger Train) and 74009 (Sonipat–Jind Passenger Train) will run six days a week, with Friday excluded from service. The schedule lists multiple intermediate stops including Jind City, Pindara, Lalit Khera Halt, Bhambhewa, Ishapur Kheri Halt, Butana Halt, Khandari Halt, Gohana, Rabra Halt, Lath Halt, Mohana Haryana, and Barwasni Halt. The notice states that the regular service will commence from 19.07.2026 and that the train will operate as a 10-coach formation of hydrogen fuel cell-based DEMU coaches with a 1200 kW base power. The poster also directs passengers to Railway Madad Helpline No. 139 and the Indian Railways enquiry website for detailed information regarding stoppages and timings.

The introduction of regular hydrogen train services is expected to provide passengers with a cleaner and more environmentally friendly mode of rail transport. Hydrogen-powered trains produce significantly lower emissions than conventional diesel trains, supporting efforts toward sustainable transportation while maintaining passenger connectivity on the route.
