Good News for Passengers! Agartala–Dharmanagar Kharchi Puja Special Train Starts

Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced the operation of special train services between Agartala and Dharmanagar during the Kharchi Puja festival to facilitate the travel of devotees and tourists visiting Shri Shri Chaturdas Devata Bari Temple, Old Agartala, Khayerpur. The special trains 05639 & 05640 will run daily from 22 July 2026 to 28 July 2026 in both directions.

The special train will consist of 6 General Second Class coaches and 1 SLR coach, making a total of 7 coaches. The service will halt at Jogendra Nagar, Jirania, Teliamura, Mungiakami, Ambassa, Jawaharnagar, S.K. Para, Manu, Nalkata, Kumar Ghat, Pencharthal, and Panisagar, providing improved connectivity for passengers across the route.

The initiative has been introduced to ensure convenient, affordable, and comfortable travel during the festival period, helping manage the expected increase in passenger movement and offering additional transport options for devotees and tourists.

Passengers are requested to visit the Indian Railways website (www.enquiry.indianrail.gov.in), dial 139, or download the NTES app for detailed arrival and departure timings at the respective stations.
