Big Relief for Onam Travellers: Southern Railway Introduces Mangaluru–Chennai Special Trains

Southern Railway has announced Onam Special Trains between Mangaluru Central and Chennai Egmore to accommodate the expected increase in passenger demand during the Onam festival season. Train No. 06126 will operate from Mangaluru Central to Chennai Egmore on 13, 20, 27 July and 03, 10, 17, 24, 31 August 2026, with 8 services in total.

In the return direction, Train No. 06125 will operate from Chennai Egmore to Mangaluru Central on 14, 21, 28 July and 04, 11, 18, 25 August and 01 September 2026, also with 8 services.

The special trains will halt at Kasaragod, Kanhangad, Payyanur, Kannur, Thalassery, Vadakara, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur, Palakkad, Podanur, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, and Arakkonam before reaching their destinations.

The introduction of these special services is expected to provide additional travel options for passengers during the festive period, helping ease congestion on regular trains and offering greater convenience for those travelling between Kerala and Tamil Nadu for celebrations, family visits, and other seasonal travel needs.
