East Coast Railway has announced the temporary augmentation of additional coaches in several trains to provide more seats and ensure smoother journeys during the extra passenger rush in June and July 2026. The railway administration stated that additional coaches of different categories, including 3rd AC, AC Chair Car, Sleeper, and General coaches, will be attached to selected services operating across Odisha and connecting routes.

Under the temporary augmentation plan, Train No. 18463 Bhubaneswar–KSR Bengaluru and Train No. 18464 KSR Bengaluru–Bhubaneswar will receive one additional 3rd AC coach from 1 June 2026 to 30 June 2026 and from 2 June 2026 to 1 July 2026 respectively. Train No. 12819 Bhubaneswar–Anand Vihar Terminal and Train No. 12820 Anand Vihar Terminal–Bhubaneswar will also be augmented with one additional 3rd AC coach from 3 June 2026 to 28 June 2026 and from 5 June 2026 to 30 June 2026 respectively.

Similarly, Train No. 22879 Bhubaneswar–Tirupati and Train No. 22880 Tirupati–Bhubaneswar will get one additional 3rd AC coach from 6 June 2026 to 27 June 2026 and from 7 June 2026 to 28 June 2026 respectively. Train No. 18301 Sambalpur–Rayagada and Train No. 18302 Rayagada–Sambalpur will be provided with one AC Chair Car coach from 1 June 2026 to 30 June 2026.

Train No. 18447 Bhubaneswar–Jagdalpur and Train No. 18448 Jagdalpur–Bhubaneswar will receive one additional 3rd AC coach from 1 June 2026 to 30 June 2026 and from 2 June 2026 to 1 July 2026 respectively. Train No. 18417 Puri–Gunupur and Train No. 18418 Gunupur–Puri will be augmented with one AC Chair Car coach from 1 June 2026 to 30 June 2026 and from 2 June 2026 to 1 July 2026 respectively.

East Coast Railway has also announced one additional Sleeper coach for Train No. 20832 Sambalpur–Shalimar from 2 June 2026 to 1 July 2026 and for Train No. 20831 Shalimar–Sambalpur from 3 June 2026 to 1 July 2026. In addition, Train No. 12893 Bhubaneswar–Purnakatak and Train No. 12894 Purnakatak–Bhubaneswar will receive two General coaches from 1 June 2026 to 30 June 2026 and from 2 June 2026 to 1 July 2026 respectively.

Train No. 58506 Visakhapatnam–Gunupur and Train No. 58505 Gunupur–Visakhapatnam will also be augmented with one additional Sleeper coach from 1 June 2026 to 30 June 2026.

The railway administration said the temporary addition of coaches is expected to improve seat availability, reduce waiting lists, and help accommodate increased passenger demand during the busy travel period. The initiative is aimed at enhancing passenger convenience and ensuring a more comfortable and smoother travel experience across important routes under East Coast Railway.
