Puri–Patna Weekly Express Officially Regularised by East Coast Railway

East Coast Railway has announced the regularisation of the Puri–Patna–Puri special train service. The existing special trains numbered 08439/08440 will now operate as the regular weekly express service numbered 18405/18406 between Puri and Patna from May 2026.

Train number 18405 Puri–Patna Express will run every Saturday starting from 23 May 2026, while train number 18406 Patna–Puri Express will operate every Sunday from 24 May 2026. The train from Puri will depart at 14:55 and arrive in Patna at 11:15 on Sunday. The return service from Patna will depart at 13:20 on Sunday and reach Puri at 09:45 on Monday.

Major stoppages on the route include Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kharagpur, Andul, Dankuni, Bardhaman, Durgapur, Asansol, Chittaranjan, Madhupur, Jasidih, Jhajha, Kiul, Mokama, Barh, and Bakhtiyarpur.

The coach composition includes four general coaches, two luggage-cum-divyang friendly coaches, eight sleeper coaches, three AC 3-tier coaches, and one AC 2-tier coach.
