East Coast Railway has announced special “Train on Demand” services between Visakhapatnam and SMVT Bengaluru to manage the summer travel rush. The special trains will operate from May 22, 2026 to June 26, 2026 from Visakhapatnam, while return services from SMVT Bengaluru will run from May 23, 2026 to June 27, 2026.
Train No. 08581 Visakhapatnam–SMVT Bengaluru Special will depart Visakhapatnam every Friday at 15:20 hrs and reach SMVT Bengaluru at 13:50 hrs on Saturday. In the return direction, Train No. 08582 SMVT Bengaluru–Visakhapatnam Special will depart SMVT Bengaluru every Saturday at 15:50 hrs and arrive in Visakhapatnam at 13:30 hrs on Sunday.
The trains will halt at major stations including Duvvada, Anakapalle, Elamanchili, Samalkot Junction, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada Junction, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur Junction, Renigunta Junction and Jolarpettai.
According to the railway notice, the coach composition will include one luggage-cum-divyang friendly coach, one luggage-cum-generator cum brake van, four general coaches, six sleeper coaches, five AC 3-tier coaches and one AC 2-tier coach.
