To manage the anticipated surge in passenger traffic during the Puja festival season, Eastern Railway has announced the operation of a special train service between Lalkuan and Kolkata. This move is expected to generate an additional 17,800 berths, providing significant relief to travellers.
The details of the Puja Special train service (Train No. 05060/05059) are as follows:
Service from Lalkuan to Kolkata (Train No. 05060):
- The train will depart from Lalkuan every Thursday between September 4, 2025, and November 13, 2025.
- A total of 10 trips will be operated.
Please note: The service on September 25, 2025, will remain cancelled.
Service from Kolkata to Lalkuan (Train No. 05059):
- The train will depart from Kolkata every Saturday between September 6, 2025, and November 15, 2025.
- This service will also run for a total of 10 trips.
Please note: The service on September 27, 2025, will remain cancelled.
Stoppages and Composition:
The train will stop at 33 stations along its route. Major halts within the Eastern Railway jurisdiction include Naihati, Bandel, Barddhaman, Durgapur, Asansol, Chittaranjan, Madhupur, and Jasidih. To cater to different passenger needs, the train will have General Second Class, Sleeper Class, and Air-conditioned accommodations.
