Goods Train Derailment on Ghaziabad–New Delhi Section Affects 53 Trains, No Casualties Reported

Senior Railway Officials Oversee Restoration After Goods Train Derailment

Rail operations on the Ghaziabad–New Delhi section under the Delhi Division were disrupted on Tuesday after six loaded wagons of a goods train derailed, affecting the movement of dozens of passenger trains.

According to  Northern Railway no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. Senior officials, including the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) and Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM), are at the derailment site supervising restoration work.

The disruption has impacted 53 trains. While 24 trains have been diverted via the Delhi–New Delhi route, 16 passenger services have been cancelled and five others have been partially cancelled. In addition, eight trains heading to Anand Vihar through the Moradabad Division and North Central Railway have been regulated.

Railway authorities said restoration efforts are underway and normal train operations are being restored at the earliest.
