110-Year-Old Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station Transformed Under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme

Shri Ravneet Singh Bittu Reviews Preparations at Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station Ahead of PM Modi's Proposed Visit

Minister of State for Railways Shri Ravneet Singh Bittu reviewed the preparations at Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station for the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Accompanied by senior officials of the Ferozepur Division, he assessed and finalized various arrangements for the visit.

He directed railway officials to ensure flawless preparations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, security and passenger convenience for the proposed visit. The 110-year-old Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station has been redeveloped into a world-class facility under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at a cost of ₹125 crore. According to the Minister, the station serves nearly 7,500 passengers daily, with around 66 pairs of trains passing through it, and has been upgraded to provide a modern and passenger-friendly travel experience.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the redeveloped Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station later this month, marking a significant milestone in the development of Punjab's railway infrastructure.
