STATION REDEVELOPMENT WORK AT SURAT STATION PROGRESSING AHEAD AT A RAPID PACE

Temporary Shift in Terminal of Trains Originating/Terminating from Surat Station Extended Further Up to 31st March, 2025

Surat station is undergoing a complete transformation and is being developed into a world-class station. Presently, the concourse work in connection with the Surat Station Redevelopment on Platform No. 2 & 3 (Phase – II) is in progress. In view of this, the block, which was initially planned until 8th March 2025, has now been further extended until 31st March 2025. Accordingly, the change in the terminal of a few trains originating/terminating from Surat railway station, which was temporarily shifted to Udhna, has been further extended and will continue. Similarly, some of the MEMU/Passenger trains being short-terminated/originating from Udhna, Bhestan, and Navsari stations have also been extended until 31st March 2025.

According to a press release issued by the Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Shri Vineet Abhishek, the change of terminal will provide operational flexibility, reduce congestion at Surat station, allow augmentation and upgradation of passenger services, and enable faster execution of the ongoing infrastructural project at Surat. The details of the affected trains and the revised timings are enclosed as Annexure I, II, III, IV, V, VI & VII. The details have also been uploaded on Western Railway’s official website wr.indianrailways.gov.in.
