On December 7, 2024, President Smt. Droupadi Murmu laid foundation stones for three transformative railway projects—Bangiriposi-Gorumahisani, Buramara-Chakulia, and Badampahar-Kendujhargarh—aimed at boosting connectivity and economic growth in Odisha.
The President emphasized the far-reaching benefits of these railway lines, including enhanced transportation, promotion of trade, and better access to markets for local products. These projects are expected to accelerate regional development, create employment opportunities, and strengthen infrastructure.
Additionally, the President inaugurated initiatives for a Tribal Research and Development Centre, Dandbose Airport, and a 100-bed Sub-Divisional Hospital, which will significantly improve healthcare, education, and regional air connectivity.
She highlighted the alignment of these projects with the Government of India's Purvodaya vision, which focuses on comprehensive development through improved connectivity, skill-building, and education, ensuring sustainable growth for the region.
