Northeast Frontier Railway has announced special trains between New Jalpaiguri and Gomti Nagar to clear the extra rush of passengers during the Festive Season 2026. Train No. 05742 will operate from New Jalpaiguri to Gomti Nagar for 9 trips, from October 4, 2026, to November 29, 2026, while Train No. 05741 will operate from Gomti Nagar to New Jalpaiguri for 9 trips, from October 5, 2026, to November 30, 2026.

The trains will have a composition of General Second Class, Twenty Brake, and a Luggage-cum-Generator Car, with one SLRD (Self-Propelled Luggage-cum-Generator) coach, for a total of 22 coaches.

The special trains will halt at Siliguri Junction, Thakurganj, Arariya Court, Purnea, Katihar Junction, Naugachia, Mansi Junction, Khagaria Junction, Salauna, Hanspur Road, Rusera Ghat, Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur Junction, Sonpur Junction, Chhapra, Siwan Junction, Deoria Sadar, Gorakhpur, Basti, Mankapur Junction, Ayodhya Dham Junction and Barabanki Junction, in addition to the originating and terminating stations.
