Southern Railway Extends Special Train Services Between Visakhapatnam and Bengaluru

In a move aimed at enhancing passenger convenience and managing the steady demand for travel, Southern Railway has officially announced the extension of its special train services connecting Visakhapatnam and SMVT Bengaluru. This decision will provide passengers with more travel options and ensure smoother journeys between the two key southern cities.

The extension applies to the weekly special train pair, which will continue to operate on its existing schedule via Katpadi and Jolarpettai.

Extended Train Service Details:

  • Train No. 08581 Visakhapatnam – SMVT Bengaluru Special: The service leaving Visakhapatnam at 15.20 hrs on Sundays and reaching SMVT Bengaluru at 12.45 hrs the next day will be extended to run from 14th September to 30th November, 2025 (12 Services).
  • Train No. 08582 SMVT Bengaluru – Visakhapatnam Special: The service leaving SMVT Bengaluru at 15.50 hrs on Mondays and reaching Visakhapatnam at 13.30 hrs the next day will be extended to run from 15th September to 01st December, 2025 (12 Services).
