Swift Recovery and Return of Passengers Lost Belongings Worth 66.41 Lakh

Under Operation "Uplabdh" RPF seized tickets valued Rs 2.85 lakh

RPF, during the month of August 2026, made certain commendable achievements under several operations run by it: -

Operation "Nanhe Faristheh" - Rescuing Lost Children:-

Under the mission "Nanhe Faristheh," RPF played a pivotal role in reuniting 33 children (27 boys, 06 girls) in need of care and protection with their families. These children were separated from their families for various reasons, and RPF worked tirelessly to rescue and handed over to NGO/Police.

Operation Dignity: -

Under this operation four elderly persons (02 male) in need of care and protection were rescued and handed over to their families or NGOs after due verification.

Empowering Women Passengers - "Meri Saheli" Initiative:

Under this women-centric initiative, RPF personnel ensured safe travel for single and unaccompanied female passengers. Their seat and berth details were shared with station RPF teams for real-time monitoring and assistance. Feedback was collected at destination stations. Presently, 32 Spl/Mail/Exp trains are covered under this initiative.

Cracking Down on Touts (Operation "Uplabdh"):-

To ensure fair availability of train tickets to genuine passengers and to curb black marketing, intensive checks were conducted at various Travel Agencies and locations across SWR region. During these drives, 12 touts were arrested in 12 cases under Section 143 of the Railways Act. A total of 18 live tickets valued at ₹53,001 and 56 used tickets worth ₹2,32,909 were seized.

Detection of Contraband Items (Satark & Narco Operations):

a) Under Operation Satark, RPF detected 08 liquor cases, recovering 154 bottles (89 litres) worth ₹55,162 which were handed over to the Excise Department.

b) Under Operation Narcos; A total of 08 cases were detected, resulting in the seizure of 127.5 kg of ganja valued at 12.5 Cr/-. This includes 01 case involving the seizure of

14.98 kg of amphetamine valued at 11.98 Cr/-, in which 03 persons were arrested. A total of 06 offenders were arrested in these cases. The seized contraband was handed over to the Excise Department/GRP for further legal action. In addition, 01 case involving tobacco products weighing 20 kg, valued at 28,460/-, was detected, and the seized material was handed over to GRP/Dharmapuri for further action.

Swift Response to Passengers' Concerns:

On 67 occasions, RPF personnel recovered passengers misplaced or left-behind items such as laptops, mobile phones, ornaments, and other personal belongings valued at 66.41 lakh, and returned them to rightful owners.

Train Escorting and Mobile Patrolling:

An average of 36-40 Express and Special trains were escorted daily by 125-130 RPF personnel across the zone, ensuring continuous vigilance and passenger safety.

Railway Property (Unlawful Possession) Act 1966: RPF registered 14 cases and

arrested 24 offenders, recovering stolen railway property worth ₹2.28 lakh out of a total stolen property valued at ₹2.4 lakh.
