Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s first hydrogen-powered train by flagging off its inaugural journey between Jind and Sonipat at Jind railway station in Haryana. During the visit, he also launched and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth around ₹14,700 crore, including key National Highway projects such as the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, which is expected to cut travel time between Delhi and Katra to nearly six hours.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said Indian Railways has witnessed significant transformation over the past twelve years and described the launch of the hydrogen-powered train as a landmark achievement that has placed Jind prominently in the country's history. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw were also present. Vaishnaw said the country's first hydrogen-powered train reflects India's commitment to developing indigenous hydrogen technology and marks a major milestone for the rail sector.

Among the projects dedicated to the nation was the 157.92-kilometre, four-lane, fully access-controlled Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, built at a cost of around ₹9,680 crore. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the 33.81-kilometre four-lane partially access-controlled Ambala–Kala Amb Highway on NH-7 and NH-344, as well as the Jind–Gohana Greenfield Highway on NH-352A.

He also dedicated the elevated railway track at Kurukshetra, laid the foundation stone for the Sikh Museum at Kurukshetra, and launched the Hansi–Barwala Brownfield Highway project. In addition, the Prime Minister symbolically handed over house keys to five beneficiaries of the PM Awas Yojana (Gramin) in Jind.
