Hi-tech City Railway Station in Hyderabad Redeveloped With World-Class Facilities at a cost of Rs. 26 Crores

As part of its commitment towards modernizing Rail Infrastructure and enhancing passenger experience, Indian Railways has undertaken the redevelopment of various Railway stations across the Country under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. In Telangana State, 40 Railway stations have been identified for redevelopment. Of these, three stations have already been inaugurated viz. Begumpet, Warangal & Karimnagar. Continuing this momentum, the redevelopment works at Hi-Tech City Railway station in Hyderabad have been completed with a cost of Rs. 26 crores. The Station will be inaugurated by Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister (through video conference) o­n 17thJuly, 2026.

In connection with this, a press meet was held today i.e., 15thJuly, 2026 at Hi-Tech City Railway Station to brief the media personnel o­n the salient features of the redevelopment project and to showcase the transformation of Hi-Tech City Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Shri K. Muthyala Naidu, Additional Divisional Railway Manager/Infra, Secunderabad Division; Shri A. Sridhar, Chief Public Relations Officer, South Central Railway; Shri K. Siva Harsha, Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager, Secunderabad Division; Shri R. Mallikarjuna, Deputy Chief Engineer/Gati Shakti, Secunderabad Division; Shri S. Varun Babu, Senior Divisional Engineer/Co-ordination, Secunderabad Division and other senior officials were also present.

Shri A. Sridhar, Chief Public Relations Officer, SCR briefed the media o­n the occasion. He stated that more than 1300 Railway stations across India are being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. As part of the same, 40 Railway station are being redeveloped in Telangana State with a cost of over Rs. 2000 crores, he said. CPRO informed that Hi-Tech City Railway station located in the western corridor of Hyderabad City has been redeveloped with a cost of Rs. 26 crores. He stated that station is now equipped with modern facilities like 12 Meter Foot Over Bridge, Additional Lifts, escalators, passenger friendly signages, improved station façade, new portico etc. He stated that the redevelopment works are being undertaken in a phased manner so as to ensure that no major inconvenience is caused to the passengers or train services.

The redevelopment of Hi-Tech City Railway Station marks a defining milestone in Indian Railways' vision of creating world-class urban transport infrastructure for India's rapidly evolving economic centres.
