Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway conducted a detailed review meeting o­n monsoon preparedness and safety of train operations across the zone on 07th July, 2026 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Shri Satya Prakash, Additional General Manager, SCR and Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) and other senior officials of three divisions viz., Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated in the meeting through Video conference.

Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager reviewed the safety measures undertaken at identified vulnerable sections, tracks, bridges, tunnels etc. He laid special emphasis o­n safety measures at identified Road Under Bridges which are prone to water logging. He took stock o­n the precautions taken like provision of lifting barrier, drainage works, warning board provision, water pumping arrangements, 24x7 watchman availability etc. He advised the officials and staff to strictly adhere to safe working practices, proper maintenance of registers pertaining to train operations and to undertake all necessary monsoon precautions. He instructed the officials to conduct regular inspections and ensure round-the-clock monitoring at all vulnerable locations. The General Manager also advised the officers and supervisors to continuously monitor the water levels at identified bridges and maintain liaison with the state government officials.  

Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR also reviewed the overall safety performance of the zone. He advised the officials to regularly sensitize the loco pilots, assistant loco pilots and train managers through group meetings and individual counseling sessions. Later, the Environment and Housekeeping Management Wing briefed the General Manager, Principal Heads of Departments, DRMs & other Divisional officials o­n the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Solid Waste Management (SWM) in Indian Railways. The officials were detailed o­n the SWM rules like four-way waste segregation, clearing of trackside waste and waste processing etc.,
