Shri Mohit Chandra, a senior officer of the 1989 batch of the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers, has officially taken over charge as the General Manager of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) on 18 February 2026. Shri Chandra earned his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Roorkee and joined the Indian Railways. During his distinguished career, he has held a wide range of operational and maintenance responsibilities, including the upkeep of electric locomotive sheds, EMU car sheds, and electric locomotive operations at divisional, headquarters, and Railway Board levels.

He has also made notable contributions in the field of general administration, serving as Joint Secretary at the Union Public Service Commission, where he oversaw critical functions in the Services-I and Confidential wings. Subsequently, he served as Divisional Railway Manager of the Prayagraj Division under the North Central Railway, further strengthening operational and administrative efficiency.

Before assuming charge as General Manager, CLW, Shri Chandra held the position of Additional General Manager of Northern Railway and earlier served as Principal Executive Director, Electrical Engineering (Rolling Stock), at the Railway Board, bringing with him extensive technical expertise and leadership experience.
