Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway, conducted a detailed review meeting on the safety of train operations across the zone on 13th May 2025, at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad, along with Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) / Additional Divisional Railway Managers (ADRMs) of all six divisions—Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and Nanded—also participated in the meeting through video conference.
He instructed the officials and staff to strictly adhere to safety rules and procedures as per the Railway Board guidelines issued from time to time. Alongside, he also stressed ensuring safety in train operations and instructed not to follow any shortcut methods. He advised staff to be more vigilant while on duty to avoid any untoward incidents.
During the review meeting, the GM also laid focus on precautions to be undertaken at vulnerable sections, bridges, tunnels, and their maintenance status in view of the approaching monsoon season. Shri Jain directed the concerned officials to ensure cleaning and maintenance of side water drains and waterways, provision of additional waterways, etc., to avoid flooding of tracks and ensure the smooth running of trains. He advised the officials and staff to ensure the safe working condition of equipment and undertake all necessary monsoon precautions.
The General Manager also reviewed the progress of various safety drives being carried out in the zone pertaining to fire safety and signaling systems. He also reviewed the status of comprehensive counseling sessions being undertaken for Loco Pilots/Assistant Loco Pilots and their family members across the six divisions.
