General Manager of Central Railway Inspects Igatpuri-CSMT Section of Mumbai Division

On March 23, 2025, Shri Dharam Veer Meena, General Manager of Central Railway, conducted a detailed safety inspection of the Igatpuri-Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) section of the Mumbai Division. The inspection began at Igatpuri station, where he reviewed critical facilities such as the Rolling In/Out hut, Route Relay Interlocking cabin, and Water Treatment Plant.

Shri Meena inaugurated the Combined Crew Lobby and the "Varuna" system for vendor verification. He also released a booklet on signal failure and rectification to improve reliability, and distributed tablets to Signal & Telecommunication supervisors to enhance operational efficiency. Additionally, he assessed passenger amenities, cleanliness, and food stalls at Igatpuri station.

The General Manager continued his inspection on the Thal Ghat Reversal (TGR) stretch, covering TGR-2 and TGR-3 on the Igatpuri-Kasara section. He inspected Minor Bridge No. 131/8, Catch Siding, and other critical infrastructure. Presentations were made on platform deep screening, underwater inspections, and hill gang operations.

Shri Meena also reviewed the Remote Diagnostic and Predictive Maintenance System, ensuring communication systems were effective in the difficult terrain. He inspected Tunnel 5C, Curve No. 19, and the Major Bridge-Rotonda Girder Bridge for structural integrity.

At Asangaon and Kalyan stations, Shri Meena reviewed various facilities, including the RPF Post, Railway Staff Colony, and the Advanced Training Centre. He concluded the inspection with a high-speed run between Kalyan and Dadar, reaching 120 km/h.

Shri Meena interacted with staff and met with Pravasi Sangh representatives, emphasizing safety and operational efficiency. He was accompanied by senior officers from Mumbai Division and Headquarters.
