The Medical Department of South Eastern Railway observed World Tuberculosis Day on 24th March, 2025, at the Central Hospital auditorium at Garden Reach.
Eminent Pulmonologist Dr. Nandita Ghosh Dastidar delivered a presentation on pulmonary tuberculosis, its causes, precautions, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis, following a short introduction by Dr. Mukta Mandal Roy, ACHD of Central Hospital.
Seven successful TB warriors, who had shown enough courage to fight against tuberculosis and overcome the dreaded disease to return to normal life, were felicitated with fruit baskets and protein bars as a token of appreciation and motivation by the medical authorities.
Dr. Anjana Malhotra, Principal Chief Medical Director/SER, presented a run-through on the successful activities of the department during the last 100 days of the intensified tuberculosis elimination programme.
Shri Soumitra Majumdar, AGM/SER, motivated the TB warriors and appreciated the medical department as a whole for their continuous endeavor in fighting against tuberculosis and eradicating this precarious disease from society, in line with the theme TB Mukt Bharat and this year’s TB Day theme – Yes! We Can End TB: Commit, Invest, Deliver.
Dr. K. Sreekumar, Medical Director, Central Hospital, Garden Reach, signed off with his vote of thanks to the medical fraternity and the Railway Administration.
