The Ministry of Railways officially refuted the claims about the issuance of a ₹20,000 crore Request for Proposal (RFP) for the installation of cameras in train coaches. The Ministry took to X  to clarify that no such tender has been issued by Ministry of Railways.

The false claims had gained traction across multiple media platforms, including newspapers, social media accounts, and news websites. These reports misrepresented information and caused significant confusion among the public, as they went viral without verification from credible sources. 

This incident highlights a growing concern in the digital era, where fake news can spread rapidly, especially through social media, which has become a major source for misinformation. In the age of instant information, the spread of false news often leads to misunderstandings and unnecessary panic among the public.
