Ms. Gitika Pandey, who assumed charge as General Manager, Eastern Railway on August 1, conducted a window-trailing inspection from Howrah to Barddhaman, during which she closely examined track alignment, overhead equipment (OHE), signalling installations, the progress of PQRS works, trespassing-prone locations, and the overall cleanliness of railway premises. She also reviewed various operational and safety aspects to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of railway services.
During the visit, Ms. Pandey inspected the redevelopment works at Dankuni Station, where she reviewed the station layout drawings, circulation area, entry and exit points, passenger waiting areas, and other passenger amenities while assessing the overall progress of the project. She also interacted with passengers in the station waiting rooms, listened to their feedback, and reaffirmed Eastern Railway's commitment to providing safe, comfortable, and passenger-centric services.
At Barddhaman Station, the General Manager carried out a detailed inspection of passenger amenities, safety measures, operational preparedness, and overall cleanliness. She reviewed the station's entry and exit points, crowd management arrangements, and escalators to ensure a safe, convenient, clean, and passenger-friendly travel experience.
Following the inspection, Ms. Gitika Pandey addressed a press meet at Barddhaman Station, highlighting Eastern Railway's commitment to enhancing passenger amenities, strengthening safety, maintaining cleanliness, and delivering efficient railway services. She also emphasized the importance of transparent communication and keeping the public informed about key initiatives.
