Sanjay Kumar Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, has resigned from his position citing personal reasons and will step down with effect from July 20. According to a regulatory filing, IRCTC received a communication from the Ministry of Railways on June 23 conveying approval of the competent authority for Jain’s resignation through a letter dated June 22. The Ministry also informed the company that orders regarding the assignment of additional charge of the CMD post will be issued separately. In his resignation, Jain cited personal reasons and acknowledged the contributions of employees and stakeholders to the company’s growth. He also highlighted IRCTC’s transformation from a Mini Ratna to a Navratna public sector enterprise and its elevation from a Schedule ‘B’ to a Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Enterprise during his tenure.
