Indian Railway has announced the conversion of the Hyderabad–Kanniyakumari–Hyderabad special train into a regular weekly express service to enhance passenger convenience. The Railway Board has approved the conversion of Train No. 07230/07229 into a regular train service that will now operate as Train No. 17069/17070 Hyderabad–Kanniyakumari–Hyderabad Weekly Express.

According to the announcement, Train No. 17069 Hyderabad–Kanniyakumari Weekly Express will operate every Wednesday starting from April 1, 2026, while Train No. 17070 Kanniyakumari–Hyderabad Weekly Express will run every Friday starting from April 3, 2026.

The train will provide improved connectivity between Telangana and the southernmost region of Tamil Nadu, catering to the travel needs of passengers across multiple states. The service will halt at several important stations en route, including Secunderabad, Guntur, Tirupati, Madurai, and Nagercoil, ensuring convenient access for passengers traveling to major religious, commercial, and tourist destinations.

The train will offer multiple travel classes to accommodate different passenger preferences, including First AC (1AC), Second AC (2AC), Third AC (3AC), Sleeper Class, and General Class.

Railway officials stated that converting the special train into a regular weekly service will provide greater travel certainty for passengers and further strengthen long-distance rail connectivity between Hyderabad and Kanniyakumari. The move is expected to benefit pilgrims, tourists, and regular commuters traveling along this important corridor.
