The Railway Protection Force (RPF), South Central Railway, Secunderabad organized a Special Awareness Programme o­n Anti-Human Trafficking in collaboration with the National Commission for Women at Sanchalan Bhavan, Secunderabad o­n 12thMarch, 2026.

The programme was graced by several distinguished dignitaries Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar, Chairperson, National Commission for Women (NCW), New Delhi, Ms.Aroma Singh Thakur, IG-PCSC/SCR, Shri. Mahesh Bhagwat, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Law & Order, Telangana, Smt. Ity Pandey, PCCM/SCR, Shri.Shadan Zeb Khan, DIG-CSC/SCR, Shri. Santhosh Kumar Verma, DRM/HYB; Shri. A.Sanjeeva Rao, ADRM, Secunderabad; Shri. Ramawatar Singh, Dy. Director, NCW, Dr.Sunitha Krishnan, Prajwala, NGO; and Shri A.Venkateswarlu, State Coordinator, Association for Voluntary Action (AVA).

During the programme, the dignitaries delivered insightful addresses highlighting the seriousness of human trafficking, its impact o­n society, and the critical role of railway stakeholders in its prevention and detection. The resource persons, Shri Mahesh Bhagwat, ADGP/L&O/Telangana and Dr. Sunitha Krishnan, Prajwala, NGO, conducted informative sessions supported by detailed presentations (PPTs) and engaged interactively with the participants, clarifying their queries and sharing practical insights o­n identifying and responding to trafficking situations.

The programme witnessed participation of about 250 personnel and stakeholders, including officials and staff from RPF, GRP, Ticket Checking staff from Commercial Department, Station Masters and Points-man from Operating Department and Railway Licensed Porters.

Two interactive sessions were conducted during the programme, o­ne in the forenoon session before lunch and the other in the afternoon session after lunch, covering various aspects of anti-human trafficking awareness, identification of victims, legal provisions, rescue procedures, and inter-agency coordination. The State Coordinator, Association for Voluntary Action, also conducted an activity-cum-interaction session.

The participants actively participated in both the sessions and interacted with the resource persons, making the programme highly engaging and informative. Vote of Thanks delivered by Shri A. Naveen Kumar, DSC/RPF/Secunderabad, followed by the National Anthem.
