At Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), the General Manager, Shri Ashutosh Pant, conducted a detailed inspection of the workshop on 14 March 2026 and reviewed the production activities, technical processes, and quality standards.

During the inspection, the General Manager visited the Loco Test Shop and Loco Assembly Shop to assess the progress of electric locomotives under manufacturing and testing. He also reviewed the gantry  of the workshop and carried out a close inspection of the cab of the WAG-9 electric locomotive, obtaining important information related to safety, technical efficiency, and driver convenience.

While interacting with officers and employees during the inspection, Shri Pant emphasized that quality in the production process, adherence to timelines, and safety at the workplace must remain the highest priorities. He also issued necessary directions in this regard.

Following the workshop inspection, the General Manager visited the Indian Railways Welding Research Institute located at BLW, where he closely reviewed various testing equipment installed in the Weld Test Lab, including the advanced Universal Testing Machine and the Welding Simulator.

During the visit, he also inspected the welding workshop, library, and training classrooms to understand the training and research activities related to welding technology. He personally operated the welding simulator machine installed in the test lab to gain practical technical experience.

He emphasized the need to further strengthen modern technology-based training at the institute.

On this occasion, Chief Electrical Engineer/Loco Shri Arvind Kumar Jain, Chief Electrical Engineer/Inspection Shri Bhardwaj Chaudhary, Deputy General Manager Shri Sagar, Principal Technical Training Centre Shri Sompal Singh Parwan, Deputy Chief Electrical Engineer/Loco Shri Sudip Rawat, along with other senior officers, were present.
