WESTERN RAILWAY ACHIEVES BEST EVER TICKET CHECKING PERFORMANCE

Western Railway has achieved its best ever ticket checking performance during the period from April to October 2025, generating ₹121.67 crore through the detection of about 19 lakh ticketless and irregular passengers, including unbooked luggage cases. This is an increase of 51% over last year, which was ₹80.56 crore and a 14% rise over the Railway Board’s target.

According to a press release issued by Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the WR zone has recorded its second best ever monthly performance in October 2025 with earnings of more than ₹24 crore, their previous best record was of about ₹26 crore in May 2022.

It is noteworthy that Ahmedabad Division registered its best ever ticket checking, with recovery of more than ₹4 crore with 50 thousand cases in October 2025. The Headquater’s Flying Squad also achieved its best ever monthly performance of ₹2.20 crore in October 2025, surpassing the previous best of ₹2 crore in May 2022.

Western Railway also recorded multiple record breaking daily earnings during the month of October 2025. WR has achieved almost ₹1.40 crore o­n 17th October 2025, while Ahmedabad Division achieved more than ₹38 lakh o­n 18th October 2025, with Ratlam Division achieving almost ₹16 lakh o­n the same day. The Headquater’s Flying Squad, achieved about ₹16.30 lakh o­n 19th October 2025.

These achievements reflect WR’s consistent efforts to curb ticketless travel and promote passengers discipline through intensive ticket checking drives across Western Railway.
