Shri Bandi Sanjay, Hon’ble Minister of State for Home Affairs, Government of India flagged off Train No. 20101 Nagpur – Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express with provision of stoppage at Mancherial Railway station on 15th September, 2025. Shri Gaddam Vivek Venkat Swamy, Hon’ble Minister for Labour, Employment, Training and Factories, Mines and Geology, Government of Telangana, Shri Gaddam Vamsi Krishna, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Peddapalli, Shri C. Anji Reddy, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Council and other dignitaries graced the occasion. Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division, Shri A. Sridhar, Chief Public Relations Officer, South Central Railway and other Officials were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Bandi Sanjay, Hon’ble Union Minister stated that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, the State of Telangana is witnessing unprecedented development in all spheres. He stated that Vande Bharat Express has been a colossal hit in India and more than 150 such trains are plying across the country. Railway budget grant for Telangana during 2024-25 is Rs 5, 337 Crores which is more than 20 times when compared with Rs 258 crores budget in 2014-15. He stated that around 40 infrastructure projects like New Lines, Doubling, tripling etc for the distance of 4,300 Kms are underway in Telangana with the cost of Rs 42, 000 Crores. Various stations in Telangana are being redeveloped with World class facilities under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

He stated that with the stoppage of Vande Bharat Express at Mancherial station, the aspiration of the people in this region has come true. He stated that the people of surrounding areas of Mancherial will have fastest travel option towards Secunderabad and Nagpur. The train is equipped with the modern amenities and the people of this region can now experience premium day journey comfortable travel experience. He also stated that Mancherial station is going to witness various developments like 12 meter wide Foot Over Bridge, Lifts, Escalators and other passenger facilities, which will make their journey more comfortable & memorable.

Speaking on this occasion, Shri G. Vivek Venkat Swamy stated that Mancherial station is one of the important railway stations in Telangana and provision of stoppage for important trains at this station is very much essential for the benefit of people in this region. He thanked Railway authorities for providing stoppage for Vande Bharat Express at this station.

Shri G. Vamshi Krishna stated that provision of stoppage for any train will strengthen the connectivity and it is the base to boost the economic development of the region. He also stated that provision of stoppage at Mancherial will also benefit the people working in coal mines, factories and thermal plants in this region.

Earlier, Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan, DRM, Secunderabad presented his welcome address and felicitated the dignitaries on the dais. He briefed about the various development activities going on across the Zone including Secunderabad Division.
