The Railway Protection Force, Vijayawada along with Government Railway Police and Crime Investigation Bureau apprehended one accused and recovered 65 grams of stolen gold ornaments worth Rs. 4,25,000 at Vijayawada on 10thSeptember, 2025.
A snatching incident was reported on Train No.12763 Padmavati Express on 23rdAugust, 2025. The Victim had reported the incident to Government Railway Police, Vijayawada and an FIR was registered for loss of a gold Mangal Sutra weighing about 40 grams, valued at Rs.4,00,000. on receiving the information, RPF team swung into action, verifying CCTV footage at Vijayawada station and local CCTV cameras. After meticulous efforts, the suspect was identified and it was concluded that he is a habitual offender.
A joint team of RPF and GRP personnel tracked the accused through details from his previous arrests. The Joint teams conducted searches in Jadcherla and Hyderabad areas, and on 10th September, 2025 at about 11.00 hrs, the accused was arrested in Vijayawada local area with recovery of stolen property in two snatching cases of GRP.

- Case Registered under BNS of RPS, Vijayawada – Gold Mangal Sutra weighing about 40 gms, valued at Rs.4,00,000.
- Earlier Case Registered under BNS of RPS, Vijayawada – Gold Neththadu weighing about 25 gms, valued at Rs.25,000.
The Superintendent of Police, Suryapet in a letter to Principal Chief Security Commissioner, SCR appreciated the exemplary support and efforts of RPF, Vijayawada in successfully apprehending the accused within a short period of time. Their professionalism and commitment are high commendable, he stated.
Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway commended the tireless efforts and outstanding service of the RPF personnel. He stated that their dedication and timely action has helped to recover the stolen items and apprehend the accused within short period.
