The 76th Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) Meeting convened on 3rd September 2025 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. The meeting headed by Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, Chairman ZRUCC & General Manager, South Central Railway. Shri Udaynath Kotla, Secretary ZRUCC & Deputy General Manager and Principal Heads of the Departments, SCR were also present during the meeting. The meeting witnessed the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Members of Parliament including:
- Shri Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy (Ongole)
- Shri Eatala Rajender (Malkajgiri)
- Smt. D.K. Aruna (Mahbubnagar)
- Shri G.M. Harish Balayogi (Amalapuram)
Alongside them, 22 ZRUCC membersrepresenting State Governments, Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committees (DRUCCs), consumer organizations, trade associations, and registered passenger groups actively participated.
Performance Milestones
Shri Srivastava highlighted SCR’s continued excellence across operational and financial domains:
- ₹8,593 Crore Gross Originating Revenue achieved (April–August 2025) — highest ever
- 60.4 Million Tonnes of Freight transported in the current fiscal
- 100% Electrification across the network (excluding under-construction new lines)
- KAVACH 4.0 (Indian Railways’ indigenous ATP system) sanctioned for 4,655 RKms of SCR’s 6,532 RKms
Infrastructure & Connectivity Boost
SCR is accelerating infrastructure development with a focus on last-mile connectivity:
- Tripling Projects nearing completion:
- Kazipet–Balharshah
- Kazipet–Vijayawada
- Vijayawada–Gudur
- Doubling & New Line Projects progressing across the zone
- CCTV Surveillance: Installed at 78 stations, proposals underway for 453 more
Station Redevelopment & Passenger Amenities
Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, redevelopment of 119 stations is underway:
- Begumpet, Karimnagar & Warangal stations inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister in May 2025
- Accessibility Upgrades:
- 208 lifts and 92 escalators now operational
- 7 lifts and 4 escalators commissioned this year
- Safety Enhancements:
- 10 manned level crossings eliminated
- 7 Road Over Bridges and 17 Road Under Bridges constructed
Stakeholder Engagement
Hon’ble Members of Parliament and other members raised issues / suggestions related to passenger amenities, stoppage of trains, introduction of new trains, change in timings and infrastructure development works including new lines, RuBs, RoBs, provision of Lifts, Escalators etc at various stations. Shri Srivastava assured the committee that issues / suggestions and feedback from ZRUCC members will be duly considered in future planning. A detailed PowerPoint presentation showcased SCR’s achievements and ongoing projects. Members commended SCR’s proactive approach and responsiveness to stakeholder inputs.
