In a significant push to modernize railway infrastructure, the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Howrah recently conducted a series of inspections at Azimganj, Chandannagar, and Bolpur (Santiniketan) stations. These stations are currently undergoing major redevelopment as part of the ambitious Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
During his visits, the DRM thoroughly reviewed the progress of the ongoing works at each location. He held meetings with officials on-site and stressed the critical importance of adhering to deadlines, urging them to ensure the timely completion of all projects. The redevelopment aims to transform these stations with modern facilities and improved passenger amenities.
Focus on Passenger Amenities and Healthcare
At Bolpur (Santiniketan) station, a key tourist and cultural hub, the DRM took the opportunity to interact directly with passengers. He listened to their concerns and suggestions, assuring them that significant improvements in passenger amenities are a top priority under the redevelopment plan.
In addition to station upgrades, the DRM also inspected the Azimganj Health Unit. Recognizing its vital role in providing healthcare to railway employees and their families, he interacted with doctors and medical staff. He emphasized the importance of the unit and discussed measures to maintain high standards of medical care.
