Mr. Ved Prakash Assumes Role of DRM Ahmedabad, Formerly Served as OSD to Union Minister of Railways

Senior Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer Ved Prakash has taken charge as the new Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Ahmedabad Division under Western Railway. A 1998-batch officer, he has been appointed vice Sudhir Kumar Sharma in this key leadership role.

Prior to this posting, he served as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Sh. Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Railways. He was responsible for formulating and executing strategic communication and social media outreach plans for the ministry. His contributions included coordinating over a thousand high-impact events such as train inaugurations, dedication ceremonies, and foundation stone-laying functions. He also successfully organised major railway project-related events on March 12, 2023, which saw the attendance of over 6 lakh people. He played a pivotal role in the redevelopment of Amrit Bharat stations.

He holds a BSc (Honours) degree in Geology from St. Columba’s College, Hazaribagh, and has also completed a management development programme at the Railway Staff College, Vadodara (now the National Academy for Indian Railways).

His appointment is expected to bring renewed efficiency, innovation, and a stronger public interface to the Ahmedabad Division under his leadership.
