Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR Reviews Status of Station Redevelopment Works Over the Zone

Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway, conducted a safety review meeting and examined the status of station redevelopment works undertaken across SCR on 14th July, 2025, at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Shri Neeraj Agrawal, Additional General Manager, SCR, participated along with all Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, and Nanded joined through video conference.

The meeting focused on redevelopment works at 119 stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, involving an estimated investment of ₹6,744 crores. Notably, works at Begumpet, Warangal, and Karimnagar have already been completed and were recently inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister. Officials from Headquarters and divisions presented a detailed PowerPoint overview covering project scope, cost, timelines, and current progress.

Commending the efforts, the General Manager urged teams to sustain the pace to ensure timely completion. Emphasis was laid on adherence to safety standards and maintaining quality across all sites, with instructions to take necessary precautions to avoid passenger inconvenience.

Further discussions included safety protocols at level crossing gates, especially those identified as vulnerable. Officials were directed to conduct regular inspections, counsel staff, and strictly implement all safety measures. The review also covered key areas such as track safety, equipment availability, fire protection, electrical and signaling systems, mechanical preparedness, and monsoon precautions.
